This portrait represents my thoughts scrambling as the colors change. There is a huge energy source but there is also a little darkness that can be seen. There is a story being told but once you move the eyes, the story changes. The eyebrows are tilted differently as a way to show a little seriousness.

Pulse

This sketch explores the connection between ocean movement, EKG rhythms, and brainwave patterns through interactive forms and flowing motion. Throughout the development process, I experimented with code to refine the shapes, spacing, and movement in order to create a sense of rhythm and visual balance.

By incorporating mouse interactions, I explored how mouseX and mouseY could influence the viewer’s experience and create a more responsive composition. Although the final result differed from my original vision, the process strengthened my understanding of debugging, code organization, and the importance of creating structured systems for more effective problem solving.

This sketch creates an interactive spiderweb-inspired design on a black canvas. The web is redrawn continuously while its colors shift in HSB mode, creating a balanced, dynamic composition. Clicking the canvas generates random lines with different colors, thicknesses, and positions, while the number of lines depends on the mouse's horizontal position. Clicking on the right creates more lines, and clicking on the left creates fewer. Each mouse click also changes the color of the web, making every interaction unique.

I liked the artist Casey Reas and how his work consumed of colors and abstract. I wanted to see if I can blend arrays together. My initial process was to make the colors blend together like a rainbow when mouse is hovered but the brightness gave me a headache so I opted for a softer visual look. I want the mouse to change size when there is movement and be interactive by mousepressed where there is two shapes moving instead of one. My goal for this project was to create a dynamic canvas that is visual pleasing but gentle on the eyes.

Hope

Hope is an abstract visual narrative exploring resilience, transformation, and the process of finding light through adversity. Inspired by my personal experience recovering from two cancer surgeries, this piece reflects the emotional journey of navigating uncertainty, change, and healing.

The butterfly serves as the central visual metaphor, symbolizing transformation, renewal, and the ability to find peace during challenging moments. Each stage of the work from darkness and spiraling movement to rising forms, tension, and the emergence of interactive butterflies represents a transition from struggle toward hope.

Through movement, interaction, and visual storytelling, this project explores how hope can evolve from difficult experiences and become a source of strength and renewal.
